Bank Probationary Officer (PO) recruitment is one of the most preferred job profile in banks.*Candidates can be recruited as Probationary Officers after clearing the exam conducted by the respected bank. So it all depends on the performance in the exam, the better you perform, higher is the probability to cut through the competition.

Educational Qualifications:
1. Bank PO Vacancies require graduation from a recognised university with minimum 60% Marks.(For Candidates belonging to SC/ST/PC category minimum 55% Marks).
2. Nowadays most of the Bank PO Openings also require computer literacy as an essential qualification, which the candidate must either possess before or acquire within six months of joining the Bank.

Payscale:

Selected candidates will be on probation for a period of one to two years depending on the bank. The starting basic pay around Rs.12000/- In the scale of Rs.10,000-470/6-12820-500/3-14320-560/7-18240 applicable to Officers Junior Management Grade Scale I. They will also be eligible for D.A., H.R.A. & C.C.A. as per rules in force from time to time. At present, initial monthly emoluments of Probationary Officers, including D.A., H.R.A. and C.C.A., are approximately Rs.17000/- at Metropolitan centres.

Selection Procedure:
Selection Procedure includes a written examination which is a combination of Objective and Descriptive type questions.
The Objective Examination will consist of:
i) Reasoning Ability Test
ii) Quantitative Aptitude
iii) General Awareness/Computer Knowledge
iv) English Language

The Descriptive Examination consist of:
i) Test of Reasoning
ii) Data Analysis and Interpretation
iii) Marketing Knowledge
iv) Test of English Language

Group Discussion & Interview:
Qualifying candidates will be called for Group Discussion and Interview and the shortlisted candidates are considered for final selection to the post of probationary officer.

Age Criteria:*Candidate must be above 21 years and not be more than 30 years.
